Nick started working here at QNS in December as the new Audio Operator. He also currently runs a recording studio from his home called ‘The Seclusion Room’ in which he records local bands and artists. He also has a strong passion for music which leads him to playing bands most nights of the week.

He has recently been involved with a community project called JAM (Join Australian Music) which took him into regional Australia to teach school children songwriting and recording techniques using the Audacity software that we use here at QNS. So please feel free to call him, or drop in for some 1 on 1 Audacity training.

Nick is also currently presenting the 4RPH radio show ‘From the Book Jacket’ which is aired once a month. This program showcases the latest books that are available in the current QNS catalogue. 4RPH can be listened to at 1296AM.

After 12 years at QNS, I have decided to work full-time in the area of my interest – landscape architecture.

It has not been an easy decision – I have come to know and have great respect for so many of the narrators over the years. I will miss having lively, interesting and challenging conversations on the phone! I will also miss the humbling experience of working with people who volunteer many hours of their time for the benefit of other people. This knowledge has taught me about one of the real things that matters in life – other people and their welfare. I thank all the volunteers of QNS over the years I have worked there for giving me that perspective in life!

I wish QNS and all the people involved great success in the future. It is a very worthy cause and deserves to be funded to continue the good community-focussed work that is so necessary.

Best of luck!
