VIP Book Club: Barbara Duncan – QNS Narrator.

Please join us to hear Barbara Duncan on Monday 29 September 2014 from 10.00 am to 12.00 pm at the Brisbane Square Library George St Brisbane.

We thought it would be a great idea for participants to hear from a narrator of audio books.

Barbara Duncan, nee Andrew, was born in Townsville in 1951 and moved with her family to a cattle property near Taroom when she was 10. In 1969 she relocated with her family to a property near Gympie, and in the early seventies worked for several years an announcer at the local radio station 4GY. She and her husband, an English teacher she met there, now live on a former pineapple farm between Wamuran and Caboolture. Her son, a novelist and journalist, lives in Brisbane. She has been an avid reader all her life, which means narrating is a particular joy and challenge. Barbara still rides horses, plays croquet and has in collaboration with her twin sister, a collection of over a thousand movies, and her favourite authors are Ian McEwan , Jennifer Regan and Charles Dickens.

A skilled radio announcer with experience in amateur theatre, Barbara is one of our finest narrators. She enjoys reading a wide range of novels and has been narrating for QNS for well over ten years. She is currently narrating her 50th book!

Barbara is committed to the craft of narrating and expresses much grace in her narrating style.
