The QNS AGM was held on Friday 5 November. As always the morning was a good chance for narrators and consumers involved with QNS to get together and catch up – 30 people attended.
Derek Christy retired as president after first being elected to the position in 2003. Derek has been involved with the QNS committee since 1990, first as technical advisor, then as systems administrator since the installation of the first personal computer in 1991. During his time QNS has gone through three relocations; first with the State Library of Queensland in Teneriffe to Montague Road, West End, then to Vision Australia in Woolloongabba, then with Vision Australia to the new site in Coorparoo. Derek continues to be involved with QNS as systems administrator. We thank Derek for his dedication over such a long time. He has given his time and expertise so generously.
Kaye Stevenson will replace Derek as president. Kaye has stepped into the role after a term as vice president and brings with her over 35 years experience as a narrator and 8 years experience as a narrator representative on the committee.
